Derek and Brynn met one a hot summer night in June, at a concert of all places, in Fort Worth, Texas.

As Derek likes to say, "It was on that night, Brynn saved my life".

Having grown up in Colorado, Derek underestimated the heat of a Texas summer night. It was at that moment of severe dehydration, that Brynn noticed Derek for the first time. If Brynn was retelling this story, she would say, "The first thing I thought to myself was, "Oh! He's really cute!" And the second was, "But wow, is he okay? He looks quite ill!"

Although they came in separate groups, it was mutual friends that brought their two parties together. Very soon Brynn and Derek found themselves standing next to one another.  Still concerned, Brynn looked up at Derek and Derek looked down at her. It was then he noticed her camelback and exclaimed, “Is that water?? I'm vaccinated. Can I have some?!”. 

It was then that Brynn offered Derek what would end up being a life changing drink of water.

Before the concert ended that fateful Saturday night, Derek asked Brynn for her number. They made plans for the upcoming Monday, and two days later they had their first date at Sushi Axiom. The date was filled with riveting conversation about who they were, who they wanted to be, and what life experiences had brought them there. They clicked instantly. And as they said goodbye that night, neither could get past a feeling that they might have just stumbled upon their soulmate.

And as it turns out, they did!

Fifteen months later, Derek proposed to Brynn on Sandy Bay, one of the beautiful beaches of St. Thomas Island. Only a beach over from where she is designing the first new-build hotel to come to the island in 30 years.

And now, they are planning their dream wedding in Italy!
Derek and Brynn feel incredibly blessed to have found their person, and they are beyond excited to share the most important day of their lives with you!
